At the end of IILWTV vol. 2, Rae tries to 'save' her love, aristocrat Miss Claire, by playing politics: having her do the right thing during a revolution, help the people, intercede for her at the right times.
Miss Claire, at the end, doesn't resist when the revolutionaries come to arrest her with the aristocracy. Not fair in her mind, erasing a lifetime of privilege in a few months of struggle.
